It’s amazing how quickly you can get into the countryside from central London. Considering I will spend an hour on the tube to get to Shoreditch door to door, in the same time I could be sitting by a raging fire in a Berkshire pub.A weekend in Berkshire at The Royal Oak Hotel - Mini-break in the Home Counties We picked The Royal Oak purely based on the online reviews when searching for a Berkshire hotel, and I believe it has been recognised by the Michelein guide. A restful afternoon was spent drinking wine and playing chess by the fire, and reading the weekend Paper.
