To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Alice in Wonderland the Sanderson Hotel has created a unique celebration of the story through it’s Mad hatter’s afternoon tea. From the menu hidden inside a vintage book, teapots adorned with kings and queens and sandwich plates decorated with zebras birdcages and ticking clocks, they really have gone all out!
Along with the typical afternoon tea classics with a twist, there are plenty of new additions from smoked salmon quails egg with caviar and cream cheese to King of Hearts parmesan croque-monsieur stack.
The ending is as divine as the start. Come face to face with Tweedle Dee’s lemon and curd financier and the mocha chessboard gateau and with the Mad March Hare vanilla pocket watch macaroon, there’s no excuse to be late for this important date! You finish with Alice’s cinnamon, apple and peach “Drink Me” potion and for the Afternoon Tea traditionalists, finish up with warm scones, clotted cream and fruit preserves. This all comes with a selection of teas and a yummy cocktail.
